Rama Devi Women’s College to get University Status

The famous Rama Devi (R.D.) Women’s College in Bhubaneswar, will become the first Women’s University of the state. The Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) has approved the recommendations of the state government to grant University status to R.D. Women’s College.

All Women’s Colleges under Utkal University or Vani Vihar, will come under the new Rama Devi Women’s University. The move will give more autonomy to women’s higher education in the region.

In another development, the RUSA has also approved the recommendations to convert Khallikote (Autonomous) College into a Cluster University. Most nearby colleges will be included in the proposed University.
