Rama Naga from Odisha’s Koraput elected General Secretary at JNU

Rama-NagaRama Naga, the Odia boy from Boipariguda block of Odisha’s Koraput district, has been elected as the General Secretary at the prestigious and high-profile Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) polls.

Rama, who was contesting as Ultra-left All India Students Association (AISA) candidate, defeated ABVP’s Devendra Singh Rajput. He secured 1,159 votes. AISA’s Shehla Rashid Shora, a Kashmiri girl, won the Vice President post.

Rama, who hails from Ramgiri village of Boipariguda block, had completed his graduation in Political Science at Vikram Dev (Autonomous) College, Jeypore. He is currently pursuing M.Phil (Class Ph.D) at JNU, New Delhi.

While talking to Odisha News Insight’s Hemanta Pande, Rama Naga expressed hope and confidence that he would be able to do a lot of things for the University as well as the welfare of the students. Rama’s college-mate Rasmi Patra described him as a person – completely different from the crowd.
