Ramesh Majhi says Govt initiates efforts to end Stevedores’ Stir

Bhubaneswar, Sep 21: Odisha Transport Minister Ramesh Majhi said that the government has been putting efforts to end the stevedores’ stir at Paradip port, today.

He said that Chief Secretary of Odisha has been reviewed the stands-off between stevedores’s association and port authorities. He added that work resumed at one berth and others were closed due to strike called by the stevedores association.

Majhi told that Seaways Shipping and Logistics Private Limited (SSPL) was engaged by port authorities to transport of cargo.  The transportation work was resumed on Saturday under tight security. And, association members yet to join their work. The minister said that efforts were being taken to end the deadlock at the port and urged that the ministry of shipping should intervene into the matter.
