Rape accused Odisha IAS officer BB Mohanty surrenders

Insight Bureau:  Senior IAS officer BB Mohanty of 1977 cadre, accused of raping a 23-year-old MBA student in Jaipur, surrendered himself before the Jaipur Police on Monday evening after being absconding since 2014.

It is to be noted that the woman accused Mohanty of repeated sexual exploitation by assuring her of help in clearing Indian Administrative Service examination. After the allegation, the government suspended Mohanty. Since then he was absconding.
