Rape victim commits suicide in Nayagarh Dist

ONI Bureau:  Rape and suicide continues unabated in Odisha as in a shocking incident, a rape victim committed suicide by consuming poison at Radhanathpur village in Nayagarh district last night as she has failed to bear public criticism.

As per report, the girl had a pregnancy of five months. She was allegedly raped by one Debraj Barik around six months ago.

Her family member lodged a complaint at Nuagaon police station in March. Following which the accused was arrested and is currently behind bars.
