Ratha Jatra: Nandighosh stops mid-way; Chariot Pulling to resume Tomorrow

ONI Bureau: The world famous Ratha Jatra in Puri was witnessed by millions of the devotees across the world today. The chariot pulling will resume tomorriw as Lord Jagannath’s journey to Gundicha temple stopped mid-way.

The chariots of Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, ‘Taladhwaja’ and ‘Darpadalana’ respectively, reached Gundicha temple at around 6:30 PM today. The chariot pulling was started today at 2:35 PM with all the rituals.

The chariot of Lord Jagannath, ‘Nandighosa’ was stopped at a short distance from the Gundicha Temple. Lord Jagannath will spend tonight on the Chariot with devotees at Bada Danda.

The chariot pulling will resume tomorrow afternoon. The festival went off smoothly without any major hitches. Elaborate security arrangements were made by the State Govt and local administration to ensure a peaceful Ratha Jatra.
