Rehman’s Foreign Links: Odisha Police team leaves for Delhi and Jharkhand

Police-Commissioner-OdishaBhubaneswar, Dec 21: A team of Odish police left for Delhi on Monday to prove foreign links of arrested Al Qaeda terror operative Abdul Rehman.

Police team will also investigate into the financial transactions of Rehman as he received funds from London to his bank accounts. The police also seized bank accounts of the arrested suspected terrorist.

Al Qaeda operative Rehman was arrested by Delhi police and Odisha police from Cuttack on December 19.

Abdul Rehman had met another terror operative of Al Qaeda Mohammed Asif in Bangalore, who was arrested from Uttar Pradesh by Delhi police, police officials claimed.

Police officials told media that Asif got directive from Al Qaeda member based in Pakistan to discuss with Rehman for the recruitment of Jehadis for their organization.

Meanwhile, another team of police officials left to Jharkhand to investigate into the ‘frequent visits’ made by Rehman to the neigbouring states.
