Revenue Dept. collects Tax of Rs.1467.09 Cr for 2014-15

The Revenue & DM Department of Odisha has achieved an all-time high tax and non-tax revenue collection for the year 2014-15. Against the land revenue of Rs. 431.12 crore collected during 013-14, the land revenue collection during the year 2014-15 has been Rs. 638.73 crore which is 48% higher than the previous year. The target given by Government was Rs. 500.00 crore for the year 2014-15.

The Collection of Stamp Duty and Registration fee was 32.52% higher than that of the last year. Against the total stamp duty and registration fee of Rs. 599.00 crore collected during 2013-14, Rs. 795.13crore was collected during the year 2014-15. The annual target for 2014-15 was Rs. 700.00 crore.

Collection of water rate however, has not been satisfactory, despite being higher than last year by 9.01%. Against Rs. 30.49 crore collected during the year 2013-14, the collection during the year 2014- 15 has been Rs.32.24 crore, which is 9% higher than the previous year.

The overall tax collection by Revenue & DM Department during the year 2013-14 was RS.1061.72 crore against which the collection during 2014-15 was Rs. 1467.09 crore – a jump of Rs.38.18 crore over 2013-14.

The higher collection on tax and non-tax revenue by the Revenue and DM Department is attributable to the hard work done by field functionaries and effective monitoring by officers at the state level.
