#RGWithOdisha – Latest Buzz of OPCC Social Media Campaign

Rahul GandhiBhubaneswar, Sep 10: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi arrived in Odisha on a two-day visit. The Odisha Congress unit is leaving no stones unturned to make his visit successful. During his first day, Rahul Gandhi raised farmers’ death issue and slammed Modi-Government.

Rahul began “Chasi Bachao Padyatra” from Debahal village, Bargarh.  Party sources said that Odisha Congress Unit was fully prepared to cover his visit on social media and grab the attention of the world. For that, the social media groups started a hashtag   #RGWithOdisha. And full details of his visit were being updated on this social media site.

In order to reach out the global audience, the social media cell of the Congress Party started updating their accounts on various social media sites, including Twitter.

According to party sources, there are more than 500 active members are associated with PCC social media cell in Odisha. The core members of the groups are Kishore Chandra Patel – Chairman, Priyabrata Majhi – Secretary and Abhishek Mahananda – Convener. Around 500 other active volunteers have been working to update Rahul’s Odisha visit.

The team has been mostly targeting  Facebook and Twitter. They are active on mobile messaging app WhatsApp too.  The team has been planning to launch YouTube Channel to share video of Gandhi.

Party sources said that the tweets about Rahul Gandhi’s visit went viral on social media site. And, the hashtag was followed by many users and it was retweeted 3,000 times on a single day.  The campaign is not for a day or two. As it has become a hashtag campaign, #RGWithOdisha, efforts will be made to keep things alive and spread the right message among the people about Rahul Gandhi’s concerns and work for Odisha.
