Rituals delayed at Puri Srimandir; Devotees barge into Temple

ONI Bureau:  Following a clash between a servitor of the Puri Srimandir and the cops on Thursday night, Mangala Alati has not been performed and other daily rituals of the holy trinity have been delayed today morning leaving the devotees stranded outside Puri Srimandir for hours.

Agitated over this matter,angry devotees forcibly entered into Sri Jagannath temple by breaking the barricades.

As per reports, yesterday evening, a senior servitor scuffled with police personnel deployed at the Singhadwar. Later, that took an ugly turn.

The discussion held between temple administration, Puri District Collector, SP and servitors failed to resolve the issue, said Puri Collector Jyoti Prakash Das.
