Salepur MLA quits party post

In a major development in the state unit of Congress party in Odisha, Prakash Behera resigned from the post of President of Cuttack District Congress Committee on Tuesday.

Behera, MLA from Salepur Assembly segment, sent his resignation letter to OPCC President Niranjan Pattnaik in this regard. Party sources said, the young MLA, in his resignation letter, has stated that he would devote more time for the people of his constituency.

The development came at a time when some veteran Congress leaders who had earlier left the party are all set to return into the party fold on Wednesday.

Among others, former congress leader Arya Kumar Gyanendra , who recently left Trinamool Congress party,  will join the grand old party at a special function in Bhubaneswar on tomorrow.
