Sambalpur University Reader arrested for raping Minor

In a shocking development, a Reader of Sambalpur University of Jyoti Vihar, has been arrested today for raping a minor girl. The accused Reader was identified as KN Sethy. He is from the Department of History.

He was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the minor girl, who is the daughter of his colleague. The girl’s father is a Professor in Political Science. The accused had gone to their house in the Varsity campus on Sunday. When he finds the girl alone at home, he molested and raped her against her will.

The girl’s father lodged an FIR against Sethy at the Burla Police Station on Sunday itself. The matter came to light today. Students of Sambalpur University burnt the effigies of the Reader and held demonstrations inside the campus.
