Sanjeev Marik sent on Leave, KB Singh Becomes new Odisha DGP

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, has stunned everyone today, by sending DGP Sanjeev Marik on leave and replacing him with controversial Vigilance Director KB Singh, who was castigated by the Orissa High Court as well as the Supreme Court in Prakash Mishra case. Marik was scheduled to retire on December 31.

KB Singh was probably rewarded by serving his ‘Boss’ with all humility and utmost respect. He left no stones unturned to falsely implicate former DGP Prakash Mishra to mar his chances as the potential CBI Director. Prakash Mishra was later appointed as the CRPF DG.

The High Court as well as the Supreme Court rejected all vigilance cases against Prakash Mishra strongly reprimanded KB Singh. The courts observed that Prakash Mishra was deliberated framed as part of political conspiracy. By rewarding Singh, the CM has added credence to the courts’ observation and dented his own image.

Binay Behera becomes DG (Home Guard & Fire Service). YB Khurania new Vigilance Director. SM Narvane has been appointed as the DG, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA). KB Singh will continue as the DGP till February 2017.
