Satirical Poets of Odisha grace Byanga Kabi Sammelani

Insight Bureau: At the 34th Bhubaneswar Book Fair last evening, Adhikar Foundation organised a felicitation ceremony, a seminar on Satirical Literature (byanga sahitya alochanachakra) and a Satirical Poets’ Conference (Byanga Kabi Sammelani).  A Quiz Competition was also held during the programme. Over 100 stuents took part in the competition. The winners were felicitated by Pen In Books.

In the second phase, Poet and Income Tax Commissioner Sarat Kumar Das attended the function as the Chief Guest. Educationists Subash Chandra Mallick, Dr. Bairagi Charan Patnaik, Poet Tapan Rout, Social Activist Pulak Mohanty, Satirical Poets Shrijukta Satyanash and Dr. Kulangar attended the event as Guests of Honour. Poet and President of Adhikar Foundation, Dr. Rajanikant Tarai hosted the programme.

15 talented personalities who excelled in various fields such as Education, Social Service and Entrepreneurship, were felicitated at the programmes. They included Prof. Madhusudan Das, Dr. Manoj Kumar Sadual, Balaram Sahu, Dinabandhu Panda, Dr. Aparajeya Panda (Adhikar Best Teachers Award 2017), Kunjalata Majhi, Nandita Mohapatra (Model Teachers Award), Sibani Mohapatra, Prasanta Kumar Sahu (Social Service), Hadibandhu Mahakud, Tapan Rout (Sahitya Bandhu Award), Sarat Chandra Sahu (Sanskruti Bandhu Award), Madhusmita Nanda and Nitu Sahu (Women Entrepreneur Award).

In the last leg of the event, the Satirical Poets’ Conference (Byanga Kabi Sammelani). Poets Shrijukta Satyanash, Dr. Kulangar, Bolagarh Express Braja Bihari Subudhi, Dr. Ramakanta Mohapatra, Sriman Sarbagila, Sri Sri Hugula, Sri Durbalia, Kabi Rasika Sekhar Artratrana etc. attended the event. Secretary of Adhikar Foundation, Girish Ranjan Sahu and President Dr. Rajanikanta Tarai managed the event.

The Satirical Poets also relaunched English Fortnightly ‘The News Insight’ during the programme.
