Satish Gajviye under fire over Facebook Post on Sarathi Controversy

Former Kendrapara SP Satish Gajviye, who was transferred for failing to control the situation and inflicting atrocities on the common people and humiliating them in the public, has courted more controversy over a Facebook post yesterday. Under fire, he either deleted or hid that post from public. But, the content is already in the public domain.

We have listed the key excerpts of his Facebook post and also attached the screen shot for our readers’ reference.

* The decision to transfer me from Kendrapara was taken in the larger public interest. It’s not a punishment as projected by the media.
* Newly established TV channel raked up the issue of Sarathi Baba going to Hyderabad with a lady. That was not the basis for his arrest. So, he was not arrested despite the public outrage.
* The demand to arrest Sarathi Baba was not justified, as there was no complaint against him and CB-CID was probing the matter.
* Media hype is related to efforts to increase their TRPs.
* Some media persons and so-called social activists were demanding action on the basis of media trial.
* Majority opinion need not always be legal opinion. If so, even Khap Panchayats awarding death penalties would be justified.
* I know many officers, who even after assuming the charge of office, made a round trip of Godmen of their vicinity to touch their feet. But, I don’t believe in Babas and their acts. I removed all pics and just installed the photo of ‘Preamble of Constitution on my wall.
* Irrespective of my belief or disbelief, I am duty bound to protect the fundamental rights of all.
* The media showed constables breaking the headlights of motorcycles, but did not show how those bikes (headlights) were used to show the targets to the miscreants, who were pelting stones and throwing explodable crackers at the constables.
* Who will show the broken vehicles of policemen?
* The media showed a politician, who is incidentally an advocate, being manhandled by the policemen. But, the media did not show when he climbed up a building and threw stones and boulders at the cops.
* Why media did not show the injured policemen?
* Why the media did not show injured OTV Reporter? And, how he got injured?
* OTV has a stable viewership despite not indulging in cheap methods of increasing TRPs.
* We need to introspect whether to justify violent agitation or allow police to control the law and order situation using their discretion on the use of force.
* The violent agitations in Kendrapra were held by organisations, who are traditional sympathisers of Godmen. Perhaps, they are perturbed by getting one after another ‘Baba’ getting exposed in various “immoral” if not “illegal” scandals. May be, they want to punish the Baba for hurting their truth.
