SC grants Conditional Bail to German Woman Rape accused Bittihotra Mohanty

The Supreme Court on Friday granted conditional bail to Bittihotra Mohanty, accused of raping a German woman in 2006.

Hearing the case, the Apex court told Bitti Mohanty to submit a surety bond of Rs 2.5lakh, directed to deposit his passport and make a monthly appearance at the Cantonment Police Station in Cuttack.

It is to be noted that, Bittihotra, the son of ex-DGP Bidya Bhushan Mohanty was jailed for 7 years for raping a German woman at a hotel in Alwar, Rajasthan in March 2006.
