SC orders CBI Probe into Itishree Murder Case

The Supreme Court has ordered a CBI probe into the sensational Itishree Pradhan murder case and asked the investigating agency to form a team in one week to arrest the main culprits in this case. The apex court asked the CBI to submit a report within two months.

Itishree Pradhan, a lady Teacher at Tikiri Primary School in Rayagada district, was set ablaze by some miscreants in 2013. She sustained severe burn injuries and later succumbed at a private hospital in Visakhapatnam (Vizag).

Then Sub Inspector of Schools, Netrananda Dandasena, is the prime accused in this case, as he reportedly harassed Itishree for long after failing to force her into a relationship. Despite several complaints made by Itishree Pradhan, the police and district administration did not help her, which eventually led to her murder.
