SCB Medical College Students demand action against Asst Professor

Cuttack, Sep 16: The Students of Radiology Department of the SCB Medical College and Hospital have demanded action against Assistant Professor Dr. Kalyani Parida, who allegedly made casteist remarks against a student.

The students demanding stern action against Dr. Parida stopped indoor services at the hospital from today. They have kept OPD, Casualty and Labour Room services out of the strike. However, they threatened to stop emergency services at medical from September 19 if they demand was not met then.

It is noteworthy that, Dinesh Kumar Kisku, a PG student of Radiology department, alleged Dr. Parida of making casteist remarks against him. The student reported the issue with the SCB authorities and filed FIR at Mangalabag police station on August 28. Following the charges against Dr. Parida, the state government transferred her as DMET’s officer on special duty.
