Security Forces bust Maoist Gun Factory in Malkangiri

Bhubaneswar, Sep 18: Security personnel involved in anti-naxal combing operations have busted gun-making factory run by Maoists in Tekguda forests in the district on Thursday.

Special Operation Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel carried out a joint operation in Kalimela areas and they located the gun factory at Tekaguda. This was a major achievement for the anti-naxal drive in the district. Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra launched the search operation in the area following intelligence reports about Maoists activity in the forest.  However, during the raid Maoists managed to escape from Tekguda forest.

According to reports, the security personnel have seized four guns, a lathe unit, bombs and gelatins from the factory. The security personnel have intensified the combing operation in the area after busting the gun factory.
