Sex racket kingpin Sunil Meher arrested

Sunil Meher, who is alleged to be running sex rackets in the city for more than six years, was arrested Thursday from Kolkata airport by sleuths of the Quick Action Team (QAT) of Commissionerate Police.

The Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Police arrested the 42-year-old kingpin from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Dum Dum area in Kolkata.

Meher has earlier been arrested four times by QAT and a total of seven times by the Commissionerate Police. Sunil was running sex rackets both in the State of Odisha as well as outside. He was absconding since June 2015. The Nayapalli Police station had issued warrant against him.

Meher, a native of Sambalpur, had come to Bhubaneswar in 2003, police sources said. He worked at a bar. Later, he left the job and started a sex racket in the city.
