Sikhya Sahayaks in Odisha to be known as Junior Teachers

ONI Bureau:  In major breakthrough the Odisha Government abolished the Siksha Sahayak post, confirmed the School & Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patro on Monday.

As per report, they will be appointed as junior teachers (contractual) for the first three years and their post will be regularized after three years of their service. The State Government also agreed to increase salary by 25% in line with 7th Pay Commission.

However, the agitating teachers threaten to launch protest against Central Government till the demands requiring Centre’s approval are not cleared. As per rules, the State Government should provide 40% and the Centre 60%.
