Six Maoists killed on Odisha-Chhattisgarh Border

Odisha-Chhattisgarh Border-Maoists encounterMalkangiri, Oct 7: Six Maoists including a woman cadre were killed in a fierce battle of fire between ultras and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawans at Darbha Ghati along Odisha-Chhattisgarh border today.

According to reports, acting on the tip-off from Jagdalpur police, the Jawans of CRPF launched combining operation in the forest of areas in Darbha Ghati.

The exchange of fire last for few hours between the Maoists and security forces on the ghat area. CRPF Jawans killed six Maoists including a woman cadre on spot, while few other were insurgents fled then scene.  The Jawans seized two guns, 315 rounds of ammunition and eight kilograms of explosives from their possession. It was reported, the Maoists had attacked many leaders and security forces in Darbha Ghati, a border area connecting Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
