Soon, Drones to monitor Naxal-Activities in Odisha: DGP RP Sharma

ONI Bureau:  Drone cameras will be used by Odisha police soon, for the surveillance of Naxal activities in Naxal-Affected Areas in Odisha, informed Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma.

A day after ruling TDP MLA K Sarveswara Rao and a former legislator of his party Siveri Soma were shot dead by Maoists in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam district, Odisha Police , is geared up to procure  Drones in this financial year to watch the movement of Naxals in Malkangiri, Rayagada and Koraput districts.

Odisha police has also decided to use the drones for surveillance and traffic management during the Men’s Hockey World Cup, going to be held from November 28 to December 16 in Bhubaneswar.
