Soura Jalanidhi Scheme launched to increase Solar Energy use in Agriculture

ONI Bureau:  With an aim to increase use of solar energy in agricultural development and empowerment of the farmers in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday launched “Soura Jalanidhi” scheme.

Under the scheme, 5,000 solar pumps will be provided to farmers with up to 90 per cent subsidy which would irrigate 2500 acres of land.

Patnaik also launched a web portal on this occasion. As many as 1000 farmers from 30 districts attended the event through video conference.
