Speaker asks Baijayant Panda to give a thought over resignation

ONI Bureau:  A customary meeting held between the former Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan following his resignation from Lok Sabha.

With all eyes keeping a close watch on the next move of the lawmaker, Baijayant Panda on Thursday informed that the meeting was cordial and the Speaker was inquired into the circumstances that lead to his resignation from the BJD party. The Speaker asked him to give it a thought, & said she would apply her mind on it before taking a decision.

“Had a cordial meeting with the Lok Sabha Speaker, as is customary, on my quitting BJD & resignation from LS. She was very considerate, enquired into the circumstances, asked me to give it a thought, & said she would apply her mind on it before taking a decision,” Panda tweeted.

Odisha MP Baijayant Jay Panda, who had resigned from the Biju Janata Dal earlier, has tendered his resignation from Lok Sabha to the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan last month.
