Speculations Over Jeypore Airstrip

The airstrip at Jeypore in Koraput was recently refurbished by the district administration. The airstrip is prepared to accommodate 18-seater aircrafts. Despite the refurbishment, there is a delay in the final nod from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to regularise flight operations at the airstrip.

The district administration of Koraput has applied for a license but has not received any feedback from the DGCA yet. Uncertainty still continues to shadow over operations of regular flights and thus there is resentment among the locals.

Hope the final approval from the DGCA will bring joy among the locals.
