State Govt eyes to brand Odisha as Investment Destination

IR Colloquium 2015 GC Pati Chief SecyBhubaneswar, Oct 17: With a grand vision for attracting around one lakh seventy five thousand cr. of investment in to the State in coming 4 years, Govt has initiated steps for branding Odisha as an Investment Destination.

A one day Workshop to this effect was organized today in IDCO tower involving the senior officers, theme experts and persons from industry. Chief Secretary Sri Gokul Chandra Pati  inaugurated the workshop. In his inaugural address Chief Secretary said that investor’s perception about Odisha is crucial for bringing  investment to the State.

Along with communicating State’s opportunities and potentialities to the world outside we have to implement our progressive policies in a team spirit added Sri Pati . Chief Secretary emphasized that  implementation of the IPR,2015  with team spirit would further improve the rank of Odisha in ‘ease of doing business’ and will have great positive impact on the  investor’s perception.

Various Dimensions of brand building were discussed in the meeting and efforts were  made to link those with the potentialities available in Odisha.  The Development Commissioner Sri U.N. Behera The Principal Secretary Industry Sri Sanjeeb Chopra, Principal Secretary Water Resources Sri Pradeep Kumar Jena, Principal Secretary, Tourism Sri L.N.Gupta,  Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare Smt Arati Ahuja, Secretary School & Mass Education Smt Ranjana Chopra,  Transport Commissioner Dr C.S. Kumar,  Secretary Information & Public Relations Sri Manoranjan Panigrahi , Secretary Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disability Sri Saswat Mishra along with experts from international level brand building  agency like JWT and senior members from Industry were engaged in the brainstorming exercise over two sessions.

Various formulations were carved out for setting the vision and to brand Odisha as an investment destination. It has been decided to share these inputs with a larger professional group and also invite suggestions from people before finalizing the vision and the brand.
