Stevedores’ stir hits cargo handling at Paradip Port in Odisha

ONI Bureau:  Cargo handling activities have been affected at Paradip Port as loaders, operators and helpers of various stevedore companies have staged cease-work protest in the port premises on Friday morning.

As per report as many as 2,000 stevedore workers have stopped working in protest against transfer of labour union leaders and dismissal of some employees illegally.

The irate staffs have threatened that they would continue the dharna until their demands are not fulfilled.
