STF Busts Pangolin Racket in Subarnapur

The Special Task Force of Crime Branch busted a Pangolin racket near Rajakothi, Sonepur under Subarnapur district. Two persons were arrested in connection with the case.

One live pangolin and 5.65 gm of pangolin scales werr seized from their possession.

Acting on a specific information, the STF had raided the area. The accused were identified as Somanath Bag and Marsalan Bhengera.

A case was registered under Wildlife Protection Act 1972.

While the pangolin will be handed over to the Forest Authority, the pangolin scales will be sent to Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun for chemical examination.
