Stiffer Penalty for bursting firecrackers around BBSR Airport

The Commissionerate police intend to enforce stiffer penalty for bursting firecrackers in the ‘no cracker zone’ around the Biju Patnaik international airport in Bhubaneswar.

The Airport authorities had earlier written to the local administration and the police to enforce the norms of no cracker zone under four police station limits of the capital city including Khandagiri, Airfield, Lingaraj and Capital police stations.

Even though the ‘no cracker zone’ has already been announced around the airport area, people continue to burst firecrackers within the prohibited area, defying the order.

It is to be mentioned that bursting of firecrackers in close proximity of the airport might cause to aviation accidents.
