Students’ Union Elections: Sambalpur University Students end stir

Sambalpur UniversitySambalpur, Oct 5: The students of Sambalpur University have locked the office of the Chairman of PG Council today morning. After getting assurance from the Vice Chancellor, students have opened the office of the Chairman. Tension prevailed at the campus as students protested and locked the office following non availability of nomination forms for filing for the upcoming students’ union elections.

The filing of nomination forms has been completed at many colleges and universities across the state today. The nomination form filed by candidates would be scrutinized between 2 pm to 4 pm today and the polls would be held on October 14.

The students at Sambalpur University could not filed nomination due to the shortage of the nomination forms that led to stir said students at the campus. However irate students called off their stir after getting assurance from the officials. Following the unrest and tension, the students’ union polls were called off at Vani Vihar University in Bhubaneswar.
