Sulia Jatra begins in Bolangir Dist today

The famous Sulia Jatra bagan in Bolangir district today. Hundreds of animals were sacrificed during the Sulia Jatra on Tuesday at Khairguda village under Tusura police station in the district as part of their tradition and customs.

Sulia Jatra has been observed by tribal at Badkhala near Khairguda village on the second Tuesday of Pausha month.

Earlier, the District Adivasi Kalyan Sangh and the Milita Sulia Puja Committee had a meeting on Saturday where the tribal decided to sacrifice animals and birds like previous years.

On the other hand, the district administration made elaborate security arrangement to avoid any embarrassing situation during the festival.
