Sunki Landmine Blast: Assistant Commandant Suspended

Assistant Commandant Gopabandhu Tripathy, who had been posted as Reserve Inspector in Koraput, has been suspended for dereliction of duty in connection with the landmine blast at Sunki Ghat, which killed 8 Jawans.

It was reported that Gopabandhu Tripathy erred by providence by a police van to the Jawans to travel to Berhampur instead of a private vehicle, leading to their interception by the Maoists.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Police Department has announced Rs 10 lakh each for 5 injured Jawans, who are being treated at various hospitals.
