Supreme Court grants Interim Protection to Abhijit Iyer till Oct 5

ONI Bureau:  The Supreme Court of India today granted interim protection to Abhijit Iyer Mitra till October 5.

The interim order shall remain in force till October 5 to facilitate him to move High Court of Odisha, said the Apex Court.

However, the court directed the Odisha Police to provide security to Iyer if needed, informed Iyer’s lawyer Yatinder Chaudhary.

Earlier, Abhijit Iyer was arrested for making derogatory remarks on the Sun Temple-Konark, Odisha and its religious sentiments.
