Surface to Air Ballistic Missile ‘Barak-8′ test-fired from Odisha Coast

India on Tuesday morning successfully test-fired its Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM) Barak-8 from Odisha coast.

The 4.5-meter long ballistic missile weighs around 270 kg and can carry a payload of 60 kg.

Barak-8 can hit the target within a range of 70 km and it can deploy in sensitive Air Force stations.

The test-firing of the missile was jointly carried out by Indian Defence Research, DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), sources said.
