Suspected SIMI Movement triggers Panic in Bolangir

TerroristsThe Telangana Police, which had been camping in Bolangir district for the last three days to probe suspected Odisha links of banned SIMI (Students Islamic Movement in India), have returned this morning without revealing much.

The probe will continue, as no concrete evidences have been found so far. The Telangana cops were looking for possible local links. Security has been beefed up in Bolangir district following the terror link alert. People in Bolangir district are now living in fear, but the cops have allayed their fears and concerns and said that they are ready to deal with any situation.

The incident came into light after two SIM members – Mohammad Aji-ud-Din and Mohammad Aslam alias Bilal— of Madhya Pradesh were gunned down by the cops. They were allegedly involved in criminal activities in Odisha. They had reportedly carried out the bank robbery at the Jharsuguda Gramya Bank on December 13, 2013 and looted cash worth Rs 1.25 lakh.
