Sustainable Farming: Success story of a Marginal Farmer in Nabarangpur Dist

ONI Bureau: Mohan Patro, a small farmer of Bausabeda Village under Bhandariguda Gram Panchayat near Umerkote in Nabarangpur district made the best out of cultivation and that made him proud on himself as a progressive youth farmer.

He is always trying hard to maintain his livelihood through vegetable cultivation but due to adequate knowledge and financial support, his dream was remain unseen.

Earlier, Patro was doing vegetable cultivation on 0.5 Acre of land, but now able to do cultivation at 1 acre of land by the guidance of Watershed Committee. For that he got an amount of Rs. 24,000 for doing vegetable cultivation.

Now he is cultivating vegetables like Cauliflower, Cabbage, Brinjle, Tomato and Raddish at 1 Acre of land and yielding more vegetables. He is expecting yield of lump sum amout of Rs. 80000/.
