Tourists suffer in Konark due to 24-hr bandh

ONI Bureau:  24 hours Konark bandh against construction of replica of the Sun Temple plan and permanent redressal of land disputes, put tourists in trouble in the Sun Temple in Konark on Saturday. All hotels and other shops were shut, causing difficulty to the tourists.

A large number of commuters were seen stranded as the members of Bhusurakhya Kriyanusthan Committee burnt tyres and staged road blockade in different routes connecting to the main road in the world heritage site Konark.

While the educational establishments, shops and other business establishments have remained closed, Vehicular movement was largely affected in the town due to the bandh.
