Trade Unions begin 2-day Bharat Bandh; Commuters hit hard

ONI Bureau:  Thousands of workers from the organised and unorganised sectors started a 48-hour nationwide strike on Tuesday demanding minimum wages, social security schemes & against privatisation of public and government sector.

Lakhs of commuters faced hardships as members of the trade unions blocked railway lines. Other vehicular movements were also disrupted at many places in view of the bandh today.

While Government offices, educational institutions, post offices and banks remained closed; stone pelting and violence has been reported from several parts of the Country due to the bandh.
