Train services hit by Nor’wester in Odisha

ONI Bureau:  Normal life in several parts of Odisha was affected due to Nor’wester rain accompanied with thunderstorm since morning on Wednesday.

Nor’wester rains accompanied with hailstorm witnessed water-logging in low-lying areas in  Bhubaneswar & Cuttack.

Rail services on Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar-Puri route badly affected as signals stop functioning due to Nor’wester rains. Passengers were seen stranded after roof of Bhubaneswar Railway Station leaks following heavy rains.

Cuttack-Puri Passenger train (58415) and Palasa-Cuttack Passenger train (58434) have cancelled between Mancheswar and Cuttack.

Bhubaneswar-Brahmapur- Bhubaneswar passenger train (58411/58412) will also remain cancelled between Balugaon and Brahmapur as per the report.

Following heavy rain and strong wind, New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Vistara 785 flight diverted to Kolkata.

The Met department has forecast more rain and lightning in 15 districts including Dhenkanal, Sundergarh, Khurdha, Nayagarh, Boudh,, Mayurbhanj,Kendrapara, Sambalpur, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Angul, Puri, Bhadrak, Sonepur and Balasore.
