Our State paid rich tributes to Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das on his death anniversary today.
Madhusudan Das is known as the architect of modern Odisha. He was one of the modern thinkers of the then Odisha and fought for freedom of expression, education, rural development and labour reforms.
Madhu Babu was born on 28 April 1848 at Satyabhamapur in Cuttack district and died on 4th February 1934 at the age of 85. His long struggle for rights proved fruitful and as a result, Odisha transformed and took birth as modern Odisha on 1 April 1936. Hence, every year this day is celebrated as Utkala Dibasa.
