Utkal Bharat President Kharabela Swain attacked in Aul, Kendrapara

ONI Bureau: In a shocking development today, former Lok Sabha MP from Balasore and Utkal Bharat President Kharabela Swain was attacked by alleged BJD workers during a rally in Aul, Kendrapara.

Kharabela was confronted by a group of people during his ‘Odisha Bhagya Parivartan Yatra’ in Aul. Mr. Swain has alleged he was forced to leave the rally when he started talking against BJD and CM Naveen Patnaik. When he refused to leave, his supporters were assaulted, mic was snatched and broken, vehicles were damaged.

“They asked me why did I speak in favour of Baijayant Panda and Abhijit Iyer-Mitra on Kanak News last night,” revealed Kharabela Swain.

As per the former MP, he sat in protest on the ground near the stage despite constant abuse by the hooligans. Later, they dragged him by neck and forcibly put into his vehicle. Mr. Swain and his supporters met the Kendrapara SP and lodged an FIR, blaming Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Deb’s close associate Nira Senapati and others. Pratap Deb has refuted the allegations. Aul MLA Debendra Sharma has condemned the incident and sought strong action against the guilty.
