Utkal Chemists’ and Druggists’ Association to join Strike on Oct 14

Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: Under the aegis of Utkal Chemists’ and Druggists’ Association around 20,000 chemists in the Odisha will go on strike on October 14 opposing the online sale of medicines.

The association has extended its support to All India Organisation of Chemists’ and Druggists’ Association, which called nation-wide strike opposing the online sale of the medicines.

On Wednesday, chemists and druggists would close down the shutters protesting online sale of medicines.

The association alleged the central government for giving approval to online sales of medicines. The association members alleged that the online sale of medicines is a violation under the Drugs  and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
