Viswa Odia Sammilani to be held in Delhi in November 2018

ONI Bureau: The special session of Viswa Odia Sammilani will be held at the Dr. Ambedkar Centre in New Delhi on November 3 and 4. The conference is being held after a gap of 18 years.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, Union Ministers Jual Oram & Dharmendra Pradhan would be invited to grace the event.

In addition, the Governor, Culture Ministers of State & Centre as well as Lok Sabha Speaker and Union Finance Minister will be invited to attend the function. The dates and venue were fixed at the Core Coremittee meeting in Kolkata.

The two-day Viswa Odia Sammilani is expected to draw attention of representatives from 20 foreign countries, major cities of India and over 1,000 participants from Odisha.

The last time the Viswa Odia Sammilani was held in 1992. A souvenir will be published this year as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations. Among others, President of VOS Murali Sharma, Convener Kishore Dwivedi, Secretary Bibhu Prasad Nayak, Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra, Satyabrata Panda, Pitambar Barik, Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Kaveri Behera attended the Core Group meeting.
