VSSUT Burla 1st 1965 Batch holds Golden Jubilee

University College of  Engineering, Burla known as Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSIT), under Utkal University came into existence in 1956 and the 1st batch passed out in 1960. It was the only Engineering college in the state at that time. 1965 batch is the 6th batch with 180 students. The batch passed in the month of Feb 1965 instead of May  1965 to fill off the urgent need for Engineers as desired by Mr. Biju Patnaik, the then Chief Minister of Odisha.

The batch completes its 50 years of passing out in 2015. Thereafter celebrating its Golden Jubilee on 1st March 2015 (Sunday). The entire batch of 1965 got their appointment just after passing out and got into various important posts and some of them  ended as  Work Secretary, Addl. Director General MES, Engineer-in-Chief and various higher posts before their retirement.

Mr. Arjit Passayat, Hon’ble Justice of Supreme Court  (Retd.) was the Chief Guest  and Er. Ashok Ku. Basa ,Past President of the Institution of Engineers (India)  and  Dr. Saibaba Reddy, Vice-Chancellor , VSSUT were also the guest of honour.
