Woman allegedly raped on pretext of Biju Pucca Ghar

ONI Bureau: A woman in Dasrathpur area in Jajpur has levelled serious allegation that a local BJD leader had raped her in the night of January 11 on pretext of sanctioning a Biju Pucca Ghar.

The woman had lodged a case at Mangalpur police station. The police have lodged a case against BJD leader Chandrakant Mohapatra and recorded the victim’s statement.

The woman, who was deserted by her husband, alleged that she got a phone call from the BJD office that she would get a house under ‘Biju Pucca Ghar’ scheme. And, when she went there, she was subjected to sexual assault. The cops are probing the matter.
