Women Teachers in High School, UP School to wear Boyanika Sarees in Odisha

ONI Bureau: The School and Mass Education Department has modified the dress code for women teachers in both High School and Upper Primary schools of the State.

The teachers will now wear Boyanika sarees. The uniform of students will also be replaced with the hand-woven materials however, the colour of the uniform will remain same, Odisha Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister, Snehangini Chhuria informed today.

The Government hoped that this decision will improve the social and economic status of weavers and inspire them to produce more sarees and it also promotes the state’s unique handloom heritage.
