World famous Bargarh ‘Dhanu Jatra’ kick off today

ONI Bureau:  The world’s largest open air theatre festival, Dhanu Jatra kicked off in Odisha’s Bargarh town on Friday.

The world famous festival was inaugurated in presence of MP Prabhas Singh & local MLA Debesh Acharya today. The 11-day annual festival will conclude on January 21.

During the Dhanu Jatra, Bargarh town turns into Mathura while Amapali, a village near Bargarh, becomes Gopapur. Likewise, the Jeera river, which separates the two places, transforms into Yamuna.

Thousands of people not only from Odisha or India, but also from other countries have witnessed at the cultural centre.
