Zilla Parishad Polls: BJD holds edge in mineral-rich Keonjhar

As the fifth and final phase panchayat polls will be held tomorrow, a lot is being discussed about mineral-rich Keonjhar district. The battle for Zilla Parishad has become interesting here. But, as the Congress is facing a near rout here, BJD holds the edge and may form the ZP.

In Keonjhar, 29 out of 37 zones have gone to polls so far. BJD has won 17 zones, leaving 7 for BJP. Remaining 5 zones went to Independent candidates backed by MLA Sana Mahakud.

With 8 ZP Zones going to polls tomorrow, BJD needs just two zones to capture the Zilla Parishads. And, it looks almost certain.
