Zilla Parishad Polls: BJP eyes 75 out of 150 Zones in 5th Phase

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has surprised all political pundits and upset the permutations and combinations in Odisha, is eying at least 70-75 out of 150 Zilla Parishad Zones that are going to Polls in the fifth and final phase tomorrow.

BJP has already won big in 8 districts and captured the Zilla Parishad there. Some of these districts may help BJP win even more seats tomorrow.

14 seats in Mayurbhanj are at stake. The party has already won 37 seats there. It might add another 10-12 tomorrow. A clean sweep can’t be ruled out too. Polling will be held in 6 seats in Kalahandi district. As the party had won all 30 seats in the district so far, there is no reason why it won’t do better tomorrow.

BJP may also get a big boost in Bargarh, Bolangir and Malkangiri, which altogether have 18 seats. Party also expects to do well in Dhenkanal (6), Sambalpur (2), Subarnapur (3) and Sundargarh (6).
